The Stanford Graphic Novel Project 2023
Bringing Graphic Storytelling to Graffiti
Working as a TA for the Stanford Graphic Novel Project, I brought 16 students together to create a 125-page graphic novel in just 20 weeks, hosting late-night office hours and work sessions to keep work fun and collaborative as the book came together.
Our novel centers around the origins of graffiti writing, and we finished the book with a real graffiti piece we painted in the SF Mission district.
Guiding Students in Collaborative Creativity
Besides logistics and endless Adobe Photoshop and InDesign support, my role centered on making students comfortable in communicating and expressing thier creative visions. Through many pitches, committees, votes, and debates, one novel was able to benefit from the combined artistic visions of the students.
