Feline Desire
This piece was inspired by the vibrant and distinct style of Mola, or textiles created by the indigenous Guna people from Panama and parts of Columbia. The layers of paper lended themselves well to emulating the brightly colored and dramatic geometric patterns that are traditionally rendered in cloth.
Thunderbird
A cut paper piece inspired by the totem poles and serigraphs created by Art Thompson, a Nuu-chah-nulth (Ditidaht) artist.
Thompson wrote of the mythic creature: "Thunderbird, wings outstretched, towers overhead."
Raven
